What was the need for this?
There were several reports that IAS Officers were amassing a lot of wealth and properties and many people termed it as corruption. In order to ensure transparency and prevent corruption, the Government of India decided to publish the details of property of IAS Officers online. Not only IAS but all the government employees need to furnish this IPR document to their department. In Government Banks also, staff has to submit his/her asset details each year. This shows how much assets the staff has on yearly basis and aims to prevent corruption and ensure transparency.
